A month-long schedule of holiday festivities with a parade and multiple days of free parking are coming to New Hope Borough.

The New Hope Holiday Parade returns on Sunday, Dec. 7. The parade starts at 4 p.m., the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce announced.

The parade will step off from New Hope-Solebury High School and travel down South Main Street. The route has been adjusted this year to travel down Bridge Street as well as South Main Street.

The parade will bring festive floats and seasonal cheer to the charming riverfront town.

Highlights of the parade are expected to include Santa and Mrs. Claus, fire trucks, bagpipers, and Mummers. Elected officials, including State Rep. Tim Brennan and State Sen. Santarsiero, are also scheduled to participate.

The lineup of marchers includes several community groups and organizations:

  • Solebury Baseball and Softball
  • Girl Scout Troops 21724, 21270, and 21051
  • Cheer Philadelphia
  • Middle School Holiday Singers
  • Friends of the Free Library of New Hope–Solebury
  • Mrs. Claus on Motorcycles (Holiday Riders)

Michael Sklar, the president of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, said the event’s local appeal.

“Each year, the Holiday Parade adds to why New Hope is such a special place,” Sklar said in a statement. “We’re excited to continue the holiday season with a celebration that brings joy to our entire community.

To encourage shopping and dining during the holiday season, New Hope Borough has approved two periods of complimentary parking.

Parking fees will be waived for all borough-managed parking spaces between Dec. 22 and Dec. 25, and again from Dec. 29 through Jan. 1. It includes all public parking spots that use the Borough kiosk system or the ParkMobile app.

The initiative was approved by the borough council to support local businesses and ease access for visitors and residents.

“New Hope is known for a lot of things, great food, great views, great shopping and parking tickets,” Sklar said. “So this year, we’re giving visitors something truly magical: free parking. No stress, no countdown timers, just holiday cheer.”

The free parking applies only to borough-managed spaces. Private parking lots are not included in the holiday waiver and will set their own rates.
