The New Hope-Solebury School District is extending the enforcement hours for the 15 mph speed limit around its West Bridge Street campus.

District officials said the move is to improve safety for students, staff, and the community.

The change comes in response to an increase in the number of students walking and biking to campus in New Hope Borough.

The expanded hours for the reduced speed limit will take effect Monday, Oct. 13, and will be enforced Monday through Friday during peak student pedestrian times.

The district said the new enforcement schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The district urged all drivers to “exercise caution and adhere to the posted speed limits to ensure the safety of our Lion community.”
