$43 Million PECO Project Planned For Solebury & Nearby Townships

PECO is investing $43 million in electric infrastructure upgrades across Buckingham, Solebury, Upper Makefield, and Wrightstown townships.

The project is designed to help the system withstand damaging storms, improve reliability by reducing the frequency of unavoidable outages, and support the adoption of cleaner energy resources like solar and electric vehicles, according to a PECO announcement.

The work will involve replacing all wires, cables, poles, devices, and transformers on the circuits associated with the Stoney/Wright/Mountain Substation, which will be retired after the project is complete.

New advanced devices will be installed that can automatically stop the flow of electricity if a problem occurs and restore power where possible, PECO said.

PECO expects the project will be completed in December 2027.

Before electrical work begins, tree removals and trimming will be required, and PECO said contractor Davey Resource Group will survey for necessary tree work in the coming weeks.

If tree work is needed on a customer’s property, PECO will make direct contact to review the plan in person, the company said.

Tree work is expected to begin in January 2026 and should be completed in August 2026.

PECO said work on electrical equipment, including poles and wires, is scheduled to start once tree work is finished.

Work for the Stoney portion of the project will take place on the following streets:

Buckingham Township: Street Rd, Tower View Road, Pineville Road, New Road, and Ridge Road.
Solebury Township: Old Windy Bush Road, Windy Bush Road, Pidcock Creek Road, Atkinson Road, Street Road, and Stoney Hill Road.
Upper Makefield Township: Street Road and Windy Bush Road.

Work for the Wright/Mountain portion of the project will take place along the following streets:

Buckingham Township: New Road, Holicong Road, Pineville Road, Ridge Road, Durham Road, Smith Road, New Hope Road, Creek Road, Forest Grove Road, Township Line Road, Lower Mountain Road, and Upper Mountain Road.
Solebury Township: Covered Bridge Road.
Upper Makefield Township: Lurgen Road, Street Road, Windy Hollow Road, Eagle Road, Thompson Hill Road, Jericho Mountain Road, Windy Bush Road, Pineville Road, Brownsburg Road West, and Coltsneck Drive.
Wrightstown Township: Pine Lane, Pineville Road, Windy Bush Road, Alexanders Court, Skoures Lane, Jericho Valley Drive, Whisper Wood Court, Firecreek Road, Firethorn Road, Hunters Wood Court, Ridge Road, Warner Way, Durham Road, Fox Hill Drive, Martindell Drive, Parsons Lane, Perry Lane, Park Avenue, Cherry Lane, Washington Avenue, Mill Creek Road, Brownsburg Road, Thompson Hill Road, Matthews Lane, Wrenwood Road, Pheasant Drive, Robin Road, and Township Line Road.

Crews may need to temporarily interrupt electric service for safety during the work, PECO said.

PECO said it will inform customers in advance of any planned interruptions.
