PennDOT has started a project to repair sections of River Road (Route 32).
The work began Monday and is expected to continue through late July.
The repair project will impact River Road in parts of Lower Makefield Township, New Hope Borough, Plumstead Township, Upper Makefield Township, and Yardley Borough.
PennDOT advises that some closures and detours will be in place as part of the project:
- River Road will be closed and detoured between Windy Bush Road (Route 232) and Aquetong Road. Motorists will be directed to use Windy Bush Road and Aquetong Road.
- River Road will be closed and detoured between Lurgan Road and Stoneybrook Road. Motorists will be directed to use Lurgan Road, Windy Bush Road, Pineville Road, and Stoneybrook Road.
- River Road will be closed and detoured between Taylorsville Road and General Washington Memorial Boulevard (Route 532). Motorists will be directed to use Taylorsville Road.
- River Road will be closed and detoured between Lurgan Road and Aquetong Road. Motorists will be directed to use Lurgan Road, Street Road, Windy Bush Road, and Aquetong Road.
Crews will perform base repairs, apply micro-surfacing overlays and install new line and legend painting.
Drivers should anticipate potential travel restrictions on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to PennDOT.
All work is weather dependent, and local access to properties will be maintained.
The repairs are part of a larger $5 million PennDOT initiative aimed at improving road conditions throughout Bucks County.
