The area was battered by a line of strong thunderstorms that swept through Thursday evening.
The storms, which hit around 5:40 p.m., brought strong wind gusts and heavy rain to New Hope Borough, the City of Lambertville, and Solebury Township
In the immediate aftermath, PECO reported more than 5,000 customers in the New Hope area without service and Jersey Central Power and Light had 1,000 customers in the dark in Lambertville. That number began to decrease relatively as crews responded.
Authorities received reports of downed tree limbs and street flooding as the heavy rain poured down.
The storm system was also reported to have caused damage and power outages throughout the broader Philadelphia region as it moved through.
Forecasters said there were additional chances of thunderstorms throughout Thursday night.

Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 65. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84. West wind around 15 mph.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. West wind around 5 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 75.
Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 77.
Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 78.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 95.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
