Hunterdon County officials announced a new series of health, wellness, and nutrition programs set to begin in 2025.
The programs will be hosted at the Public Health Nursing facility at 1 Walter Foran Boulevard in Flemington Borough.
“The launch of these programs reflects our commitment to maintaining and improving the strong health and wellness of our community,” Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun Van Doren, who also serves as the liaison to the Hunterdon County Department of Health. “We are happy that the Department of Health can offer a variety of opportunities that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.”
Highlighted in the 2025 program lineup is the monthly “Brunch and Learn Program,” scheduled for the third Friday of each month, except April, which will be held on the second Friday. Seniors can choose from two sessions, either from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A four-part Nutrition Series, presented by Nourish and Thrive Nutrition Center, will run on the second Tuesday of each month from May through August, also between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
All programs are free of charge and specifically available to Hunterdon County residents with disabilities and seniors aged 60 and over.
The county also offers blood pressure screening and other health services that are designed to promote healthy behaviors, disease prevention, and effective chronic disease management.
“These programs have and will continue to make a positive impact on our community’s health, by providing accessible and comprehensive resources that support our residents in their journey toward better health and wellness,” Van Doren stated.
Given the limited seating, registration is required for participation.
Interested residents should contact the public health facility at 908-806-4570 for more information and to register. Additional details can also be found on the Hunterdon County Department of Health website.
