A restaurant that will sell alcoholic beverages is being planned for a former cafe location in Solebury Township.

Last month, the Solebury Township Board of Supervisors voted to remove previous restrictions on selling alcoholic beverages or having a liquor license at 415 South York Road.

John VanLuvanee, the attorney for Finale Partners LLC, which is owned by Steven Grabowski and his wife, said the company purchased an extra liquor license from Hotel Du Village and plans to use it at the storefront previously occupied by Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods cafe.

Restaurateurs have eyed the site for some time, but the lack of a liquor license caused them to hold back, VanLuvanee said.

The small shopping center was converted from a Chevrolet dealership years ago.

Officials said there were a number of restaurants within a short distance years ago when a restriction on a liquor license was put in place, but now, there are none nearby.

The property also features a restriction on housing, which is not being considered.

Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods cafe had been open for many years and closed in 2022. However, Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods continues to run a catering business based in Bristol Township that serves the entire area.
