A boutique that sells retro-inspired clothing and accessories has announced that it will be closing its physical store in New Hope Borough.

The Kitschy Cauldron at 129 South Main Street will close by the end of January and move to an online and event-based business model, according to a Facebook post.

The shop has been in the borough since 2022.

“I’m so heart broken to have to post this but January will be my last month in New Hope. I’ve been hanging on by a thread for a while and unfortunately I can’t afford to keep up even with working other jobs. Within the past few days one of the jobs fell through, which is why this is so sudden. It has been a slow year and the past few months, I haven’t even made enough sales to pay rent,” said the Facebook post from The Kitschy Cauldron.

Despite these challenges, The Kitschy Cauldron plans to continue its journey online and at various vendor events.

“I’m hoping there will be a silver lining and maybe I’ll be able to find a better location in the future,” the post said, noting there are discounts being offered.

It added: “I want to give a big thank you to everyone that has visited, shopped and supported me in New Hope, including the surrounding stores who are all wonderful.”
