Aquetong Road bridge in Solebury Township reopens to traffic

The bridge carrying Aquetong Road over a branch of Aquetong Creek in Solebury Township reopened Friday.

Aquetong Road had been closed just east of Route 263 (Upper York Road) since June 28 while PennDOT repaired structural damage to the bridge.

During the closure, Aquetong Road motorists had been detoured over Route 263 (Upper York Road), Street Road, and Route 202 .

The stone masonry arch bridge was originally built in 1850. It is 11 feet long, 18 feet wide and carries an average of 1,760 vehicles a day.
