The Bridge Street Foundation, parent of the Bucks County Playhouse, scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for their new Playhouse Inn, to be located at 50 S. Main St. in New Hope, site of the dilapidated former Club Zadar.
The completed Playhouse Inn will have 12 rooms and several dining areas, and a satellite facility located in a modernized historic home at 8 E. Mechanic St. containing three additional rooms.
The original Playhouse Inn design from 2014 didn’t fly.
Bridge Street Foundation says it expects to open the hotel in the spring of 2018.
Food and alcohol for the Playhouse Inn will be handled by Philadelphia-based chef Jose Garces.
His company, known simply as “Garces,” is a “Philadelphia-based hospitality group” according to the Playhouse Inn press release. “Garces operates more than 15 restaurants across the country,” it said.
