pageantThe Miss Gay Pennsylvania USofA Pageant 2014, presented by New Hope Celebrates and Party Gurlz Productions, will be in the spotlight on March 29 at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope.

The event features live performances by current Miss Gay USofA Shae Shae LaReese and current Miss Gay Pennsylvania USofA Tiffany Richards, along with a sampling of talent by new contestants and former pageant participants thoughtout the night.

“We are also pleased to announce that we have partnered with New Hope Celebrates to further our combined mission of inclusiveness of all members of our community of Bucks County and beyond!” proclaimed the Party Gurlz press release.

The Miss Gay Pennsylvania USofA Pageant 2014 is celebrating its twenty-first year in New Hope, say sponsors. The event is geared toward female impersonators and is a preliminary to the national Miss Gay USofA Pageant held in Dallas each May.

Contestants (who must be male and at least 21 years old) are put to the test in three ways: a personal interview that takes place before the show and gives the judges a chance to get to know the contestants; demonstrated talent in performance areas like lip-syncing, live singing, dance, and mini-Broadway style productions; and contestants are judged on poise, grace, hair, makeup and overall presentation while in full evening gown.

Tickets are available at the Bucks County Playhouse box office at 70 S. Main St., (215) 862-2121, or online. General admisson is $27.50 and VIP is $42.50. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; showtime 7 p.m.
