Solebury Township man sustains critical burns while attempting to move fallen power lines

police lightsUpdate 4 p.m., Dec. 3: Fellerman upgraded to fair condition at Temple Burn Center.

Solebury Township police responded early Monday morning to a report of an injured man and located Stanley Fellerman, 62, of Upper York Road at around 9 a.m. with “critical” burns to his arms and hands. Police determined that Fellerman had attempted to move two live PECO power lines attached to a fallen pole and hanging low across his driveway.

He was treated at the scene by ambulance teams from Lambertville-New Hope and Central Bucks before being transferred by helicopter to Temple Burn Center in Philadelphia. As of late Monday morning, police say Fellerman was listed in critical condition.

Solebury Township police are urging citizens to keep themselves and others away from fallen power lines and to call PECO at (800) 841-4141 immediately to report the location of downed wires. Officials also advise the public to “stay in your car if a line falls on it. If you must get out of the car, jump clear, do not touch any part of your car and the ground at the same time, and stay clear of the fallen line.”

Solebury Township police were also assisted on location by New Hope Eagle Fire Company.
