Tree struck on South Main Street, power out in downtown New Hope

Tree down on South Main Street near West Mechanic Street — lightening strike around 2 p.m. Power out in downtown New Hope. Main Street blocked…this doesn’t look like a quick repair. Power still on at NH-S High School, school bus schedule looks normal.

3:25 p.m. Power still out downtown. One PECO truck on scene with one worker staring up West Mechanic Street.

4:43 p.m. PECO says 711 customers w/o power. Estimates repair completion at 9:30 p.m. tonight.

6:15 p.m. Power restored to South Main Street.
