Watersheds and Macros: Stream Creature Investigation

Do you ever wonder what lurks beneath the surface of a stream? Learn about watersheds and how the

critters that live in streams can tell us about stream health. We’ll start with a classroom presentation

covering the basics of watersheds and how to monitor stream health using chemical tests and by looking

at the creatures that live there. Then we’ll get some lab time using microscopes and other magnifiers to

check out these critters up close and personal. A fun and interactive introduction to stream health for all

ages.

This program will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. The program fee is $5 for

Preserve Members. The fee for non-members is $7. Advance registration required by Thursday, March

31. Call to register: (215) 862-2924.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is located at 1635 River Rd. (Rt. 32), just two and half miles south of

downtown New Hope, PA. For more information about programs at the Preserve visit www.bhwp.org.
