As of 12:40 p.m. Friday Aug. 3 —

From fireworks organizers:

Notwithstanding any unforeseen emergencies, river heights, weather and wind conditions, Garden State Fireworks has confirmed they will be on site, in New Hope, on 3 August, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM to prepare for the eighth 2012 Friday Night Fireworks display.  The Fireworks will be loaded on the barge stationed at the Waterloo Street pumping station.

The river should be at-0.3 this evening, and there is a 25% chance of rain this evening between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM.  The wind is predicted at 6 miles per hour, from the south.

Signs, indicating the go-ahead of the fireworks will be posted at both ends of the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge.

Tugging to the launch site on the River will proceed at approximately 7:30 PM with the support of Tim Yates and his crew, Glen Stephan,   Nelson Alfaro will be the lead onsite pyrotechnician.  Heather Ransome will captain the on-river safety boat.  Dave Sullenberger will provide the detonation boat.  Pleasure boats on the river are required to be 600 feet from the barge

Rob Loughery will be the countdown celebrity.  Larry Keller will be the emcee.

Steve Burke, Riverline Entertainment Group, will be our DJ, and we will have live music from a young songstress Sofia Szul, who made her professional debut at the age of six.  In 2012, Sofia appeared as Melanie in GREY STREET: The Musical premiered at The Actor’s Chapel in St. Malachy’s Church in NYC. You can see Sofia at  http://youtu.be/HnU4O2HlmtY

Volunteers from the Hunterdon County 4 H Dairy Council will be collecting donations in both the New Hope and Lambertville areas.

We intend to have the fireworks display begin at approximately 9:30 PM and the show should last between 9 and 10 minutes.  Because of the possibility of rain, we may delay or move forward the display up to one half hour.  We will make an announcement from the VIP Section, at New Hope side of the Bridge.

We will set off the fireworks, on the Delaware River, approximately 850 feet south of the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge.

Please respect the pedestrian traffic regulations enforced by our towns’ safety and police officers.  Also, please remember to carry trash off the Bridge and place litter in the designated bins at both sides of the Bridge.
