Brothers Luke & Jesse Elliot will be performing separate co-headlining sets this Friday night at John & Peter’s Place with a brief opening set by producer/songwriter Brian Erickson.

Luke is currently touring ahead of the May 6 release of his sophomore EP entitled, PROVISIONS and thus far has been getting rave reviews from places like The Examiner, and Popdose among others, garnering rightful comparisons to Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, and Elliott Smith.  After this show, it’s up to Manhattan for an intimate solo piano performance at Rockwood Music Hall the following evening.

Meanwhile, Jesse has been getting his band road-ready as he completes his debut full-length album, I GAVE YOU MY ALL (produced by opener Brian Erickson).  Jesse’s label, Secondhand Music was kind enough to send us an advance copy of the record and – to our ears – if Bright Eyes & Weezer swapped members for a couple of studio dates…well, you get the idea.  It’s folk, but it rocks, but it’s not quite folk-rock…and that’s not a bad thing!

Opener Brian Erickson doesn’t appear often as a solo act.  He’s usually busy fronting his own band, The Paper Jets, who were recently crowned one of Philadelphia’s Top 25 local bands by Radio 104.5 FM.  But this Friday he stands alone, warming the crowd up for an evening that’s sure to bring forth a lot of exciting new music from three of the area’s brightest new voices.
