Our program, “New & New Old”, will introduce you to two new artists. First, extraordinary clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois will join returning artist, pianist John Novacek for the lovely Fantasy Pieces of Robert Schumann. Then violinist Kristin Lee, 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, will join Michelle Djokic for Daron Hagen’s Duo for violin and cello. This intriguing work, original and engaging, is a nod to the Duo by Ravel. In the second half you will hear principal horn of San Antonio Symphony and newcomer to Concordia, Jeff Garza in the Quintet for piano, violin, cello, clarinet and french horn of Zdeněk Fibich. This relatively unknown work dates back to the late 1800s but is still so fresh.
