Community Read: On Meadowview Street

Join us for a special Community Read – a program designed to foster a connection between people and

the natural world. We’ll read Henry Cole’s book, On Meadowview Street. The book follows a young girl

who starts a meadow in her own backyard, marvels at the wildlife that come to share it with her, and

inspires her whole neighborhood to rethink their own yards. We’ll read the book then explore ways to

create habitat in our own backyards. Each participant will create a small hummingbird feeder to take

home. This program is presented as part of a Community Read initiative led by Longwood Gardens that

is designed to inspire people to pick up a good book and start a conversation about gardens, plants, and

nature. In March and April 2016, over 40 different activities are planned at public gardens and nature

centers throughout the region.

This program takes place on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. The program fee for

Preserve Members is $5. The fee for non-members is $8. Advance registration suggested. Call to

register: (215) 862-2924.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is located at 1635 River Rd. (Rt. 32), just two and half miles south of

downtown New Hope, PA. For more information about programs at the Preserve visit www.bhwp.org.
