On Monday, May 5 from 10am to noon, at the Solebury Meetinghouse on Sugan Road in Solebury, Official Visitors with The Pennsylvania Prison Society, Ellen Melchiondo and Joan Porter will discuss the forgotten and marginalized community of women and girls who were sentenced to life without parole at SCI Muncy and Cambridge Springs.
Attendees will learn about this silent population and their challenges to maintain family ties, improve their incarceration experiences, current legal and legislative issues, navigate the policies of the Department of Corrections, the unique Official Visitor program at the PA Prison Society and much more.
