The Hunterdon County Parks & Recreation Division will offer free drive-in concerts and movies starting July 30 at South County Park, just North of Lambertville.

The concerts will be held on Thursdays, July 30, August 6, and August 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. Music will transmitted to car radios, and attendees should bring a mask and follow social distancing rules.

Performing on July 30 is Jake’s Rockin Country Band. On Aug. 6, Asbury Fever (Bruce Springsteen tribute band) will perform. And on Aug. 13, the Hunterdon Symphony will appear.

Two drive-in movies are scheduled for the fall: “Playing With Fire” (2019) on Saturday, Sept. 26, and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” (1968) on Oct. 10.

“Some may remember the old drive-in theater days at the South County Park,” said Dan Bush, Parks and Recreation Division Head. “Returning to a simpler time while enjoying wholesome music and movies, bringing family and friends together in a safe environment, is a welcome summer activity Hunterdon County residents can look forward to.”

Music and movie-goers are asked to social distance and wear a mask if they need to step out of their car.

Parking for all events will be limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. No pre-registration is required, and food vendors will not be present.

South County Park is located in East and West Amwell townships at the junction of Routes 179 and 202.
