Local group sends message to AG Barr on Mueller report

Members of Indivisible Lambertville-New Hope gathered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on the New Hope-Lambertville free bridge and held aloft large cardboard letters that spelled out “Release the Full Report.”

The group was protesting the delay by U.S. Attorney General William Barr in making public the findings from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump and his 2016 campaign.

Indivisible said it chose the prominent location for its symbolism.

“This bridge and this river connect us, as do the values we share,” said group leader Cindi Sternfeld. “Attorney General Barr’s actions and reluctance to allow Congress to see the full report make it clear that his goal is not to uphold the law, but to bend it to his will and to an outcome favorable to President Trump. This is not acceptable.”

Indivisible is a progressive political movement with more than a million members across the U.S. organized in autonomous local groups. It was formed shortly after Presidents Trump’s election in 2016 to counter the government’s likely turn toward the right.

“After 26 months of daily action, our organization has become more knowledgeable, more courageous and more vocal when we see injustice in any form,” said Sternfeld. “We work to preserve the freedoms that we cherish, to let those in power know that they work for us, and that we are not going away!”

“We came here today to say, “Release the full report now!'” she added.

  • I have never seen a more unhinged group. These are the real Haters in this country. They have neither in the past or into the future ever be satisfied or happy about anything as they pass the Latte at Starbucks and tut,tut about everything.Hypocrites and phony as a 3 dollar bill.Volunteer in a Rest home,Hospital,Homeless shelter for a change rather that in privileged Lambertville,New Hope area.you really do not have it that bad now DO YOU.

  • The Government needs to protect the Identity of those who came forward and spoke to the Grand Jury and any Government Secrets. When those have been redacted the Report will be Released.
People would be reluctant to Testify or be Whistle Blowers when their Corruption or Crimes for fear of their Safety and their Family.
I wonder if those Protesting on the Bridge would want their Grand Jury Names made public if this was a Philadelphia Mob Trial ??

    • In the present political climate, if your name is in any way associated with this report, people are going to assume you are guilty of something. Having that made public, that invasion of privacy if you are innocent, does not fall under the public’s right to know. I agree with you, a fear for one’s life is a very real concern with this issue. Your “mob trial” analogy is an accurate one.
