Bruce E. Roush of Lumberville passed away at Doylestown Hospital on June 22.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Margaret Jane Roush of East Liverpool, Ohio. and his wife Estella Fortiner Roush.
Bruce is survived by his daughter Megan E. Roush of Lumberville and his grand daughters Emily Hendricks of Los Angeles and Hailey Caracio of Philadelphia.
In 1967, he and Estella moved to New Hope, and Bruce began teaching at New Hope-Solebury Elementary School. In 1973, he and Estella opened Strawberry Jam at 44 S. Main St. in New Hope, where for nearly 40 years he maintained a policy of only offering items he would have welcomed in his own home, and was able to share his appreciation of beauty, creativity and music.
More recently, Bruce volunteered at the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower preserve where he found great joy. Additionally, he contributed his time at the Community Kitchen of Lambertville and taught English as a second language every Monday.
In tribute to his memory, donations may be made to the Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Farm, and the United Methodist Church Community Kitchen. Services and Interment were private.
