Healthy Casual Food Franchise Freshii Coming to New Hope

Canada-based fast n’ fresh restaurant franchise Freshii will be coming to New Hope soon, the company confirmed Monday.

If the preponderance of rumors around town these days is to be believed, the most likely location for the new healthy food stop appears to be the former Hong Kong Sunny location at 334 W. Bridge St.

Freshii policy precludes confirmation of the specific new location address “until all paperwork is finalized,” the company said.

Soup Superfood.

The Freshii concept is built around healthy, fresh, custom-prepared, environmentally-sustainable meals and snacks served up fast in a clean, minimalist setting. Popular items include salads, wraps, soups, burritos, juices, smoothies, frozen yogurt, and rice and noodle bowls. The company last year introduced “meal boxes” that include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks — a whole day’s worth of healthy eating.

“The Freshii Meal Box is your one-stop shop to a full day of healthy eating,” according to the company. Available by subscription, customers can choose a 1-30 day program “tailored to suit your dietary mission: bulking up, slimming down, eating clean or gluten-free.”

Burrito Khao San.

Freshii says its goal is to help people eat healthier, with food that is more convenient, affordable, and personalized. Customers can choose from a wide variety of tasty, healthy items, or create their own salad, wrap, bowl or soup with dozens of fresh ingredients. The order can be even further customized with a choice of toppings and dressings.

The menu is creative, innovative, flexible, and somehow manages to provide a great deal of choice in an uncomplicated fashion.

This one looks like a hit.

And in case you were wondering, we leave you with the Freshii mantra:

Let’s eat without regret.
Let’s love kale.
Let’s embrace quinoa.
Let’s try new things.
Let’s try unlikely combos.
Let’s eat things that are good.
Let’s eat things that make us feel good.
Let’s eat and sit.
Let’s be good to the Earth.
Let’s let the Earth be good to us.
Let’s Eat. Energize.

  • I’m not sold on this one. I looked up their nutritional information on the corporate page and most of the options (including 4 of the 6 salads) have as many or more calories than a quarter pounder with cheese. The soups have over 1000mg of sodium a pop. But they bill themselves as the healthy choice. The sustainable, clean angle is appealing but the big question will be what are the prices like? Also New Hope lost a privately owned restaurant and is getting another franchise which is sad in its own right.

    • While I have no problems supporting family owned places , at all. I still do not understand the problem with a franchise coming in. What is wrong with that ?

  • I agree Mr. Gardner. The shopping center is awful. There is nothing appealing about it. A facelift will likely never happen as the owner lives in Florida. The only way to get a facelift to happen is to boycott all of the stores in the shopping center. Then maybe the renters will apply pressure to get it happened. The lack of sidewalk that safely leads into the property from “downtown” indicates that the owner really doesn’t care about making the shopping center ADA compliant. I truly believe that our shopping centers could be a hub for locals but none of them are interested in this idea.
