New Hope Mayor Keller stays on; Republicans sweep Borough Council except Gering; Dougherty ticket takes NH-S School Board

kellerRepublican Larry Keller, who has held the Mayoral post in New Hope for the last 15 years, will be getting four more through a solid showing in Tuesday’s election over contender Donna Deely.

The four winning candidates for New Hope Borough Council were incumbent Republicans Claire Shaw and Bill Scandone, newcomer Cliff Montgomery and Democrat Connie Gering. The Republicans now will have a majority on council for the first time in memory.

In the New Hope-Solebury School Board race, winners were Democrat/Republicans Neale Dougherty, Adrienne Deussing, Sandy Heath Weisbrot and Tracy Keyes, who triumphed over the Libertarian team.

  • Should be an interesting meeting for School Board next month, hen the subject of hiring Yet Another Assistant Administrator will probably be discussed. Really? In a district our size?

    Mr. Dougherty clearly stated (during a candidates forum) that we should hire one. With what money? Ms. Keyes agreed with him.

    If you’re concerned about where your tax dollars are going, please come to school board meetings, and make your voices heard!

    we saw some opponent signage that was carelessly placed in from of your signs… seems they had no permission to place them on our private properties ( LET ALONE IN FRONT & BLOCKING YOURS ) ,,, & they disappeared somehow….
