West Nile Virus Alert for New Hope Borough; spraying Sept. 16

Update: Sept. 16 – spraying activity observed after 7 p.m.

The following was issued today by the Bucks County Health Department:

“The Bucks County Department of Health West Nile Virus Program will conduct an adult mosquito control event on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, weather permitting. Rain date for this spray will be Tuesday Sept. 17. This spray is a response to West Nile Virus activity in this area.  The spray will commence at dusk.

“The area to be sprayed will be all public roads, streets, and lanes within New Hope Borough.

“The application chemical will be Duet, to be applied using an ultra low volume truck mounted sprayer at a rate of .75 ounce per acre. One truck will be used, a green Chevrolet truck with the County of Bucks seal on the side. There will be a lead truck, a Ford Ranger pickup also with a county seal. Additional equipment will be used as needed.
